The T8

Hi Everybody!

I have missed out telling you about my adventures for a week, so I would like to get to it now! So, just a couple days ago, It was the middle of the afternoon. We were in Wan Chai, south of Tsim Tsa Tsui.
So, I was on my way to the MTR station with my family. A Typhoon Number 3 was approaching, but it was already pouring. Suddenly, by the corner of my eye, I saw a man climbing a rail. WHY... My thought trailed off as I noticed a giant puddle, about 1 foot deep, forming below him. A flood. Uh-oh. I had to go in that direction to get to the MTR station. But after a couple moments, after considering how to get across, I just decided on using the same idea, climbing. So I tried. One foot here, one foot there... I was about to put my foot into a little notch when I saw by the corner of my eye a... Man. Just walking happily across. But believe me! This man did NOT have waterproof shoes. As he walked, splashes circled him. But I finally decided that it was not polite to stare at someone.

My Year in Hong Kong

Hello! My name is Mia.I am an 9-year-old girl and I am right now at the midst of leaving my Home in New Haven CT. We are living in Hong Kong! for ONE WHOLE YEAR!And as you read my blog I hope you feel the same excitement in YOUR bones as I have in mine.I hope you'll feel like you're with me in Hong Kong! Just as we were in the middle of getting our suitcases into a taxi, the phone rang. My brother, Dylan, picked it up. "Hello?" Were his first words. All that answered was,"Good Morning! Due to some circumstances, your flight has been delayed 6 hours. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I hoped this was figurative. But it was Literal. We pondered. But soon we were off, not caring at all. Well, ER... we were over-reacting. Our cats, (they are with us in Hong Kong) were crying out with despair. Elvis,One of our cats, even cried. I tried to keep them occupied with pipecleaners. But it was no use. Finally, we were at the Newark airport. We dropped the cats off and melted into our own customs. 8hours later... I smiled. We were getting on the plane.AT LAST. The 15 hour flight took a long time. but soon enough we at the Hong Kong airport... A taxi took us to our apartment. Once we got there, I raced to room 6A.I didn't cared what the apartment looked like. I just wanted to see the view out of the study window. Breathtaking. the mist was blanketing the tree covered trees. the dawn light reflected off the bay. I was in PARADISE. ***** I hope you enjoyed my blog! I will write something each couple of days... Zai Jian! Mia
